This side of the year always brings me out in browns, jade and my favourite colour - purple!

Purple has come a very long way; from once being a shade associated with witchery and beetlejiuce to now being the most worn sought after colour wave of 2007/8 and indeed 2009. Purple really is the new black!

Finding a strong-pigmented purple is no walk in the park. Getting the right purple for you is essential too. Pink based ones work well on fair skins and blue toned shades compliment dark skin.

A nude lip is a great touch with mauve. It allows the full attention and focus on your lids. For those women that have not realised, purple is the colour of royalty. I’ve known this since I was a child because it my star sign colour -  that is probably why I’ve always favoured princesses style beauty - clean, modern and bold.
